Giving financially to our parish family is one way we give thanks for our many blessings. To be wise stewards of God's gifts, we often use appreciated stocks. These stock shares are transferred directly from our account to the parish, or a nonprofit organization, allowing them to sell at the high stock value and offering us tax relief on the appreciated asset. Our broker handles the transactions at our request and our favorite charities reap the benefits of larger gifts than we could give with cash. (Longtime parishioners)
