I am married to my husband, Chris, and we have three awesome kids, Ben, 5; Elizabeth, 3; and Emma 7 months. We moved to Iowa in 2019 from Wisconsin. I'm originally from Rhode Island. Our family loves to travel and explore the outdoors. We spend lots of time hiking at Palisades Keppler Park which is near to our home. We also love gardening and going on nature scavenger hunts. I love to bake and spend most of my free time searching for new recipes and watching baking shows. Don't ask me what my favorite baked items is - that's like choosing a favorite kid!
I am passionate about both music and liturgy and have been serving in the church for most of my life. I grew up singing in the choir with my mom, which is where my passion for music ministry began. I have held various church music positions. Most recently, I was the Coordinator of Liturgical Music at St. Mary and Mathias in Muscatine. I have a Doctorate in Music from Indiana University and both of my lower degrees are in Sacred Music. I also teach voice lessons at Kirkwood Community College and Cornell College.
My family and I are excited to be part of the vibrant community here at St. EAS! We already feel so welcome. We love the focus on relationship here - everything from greeting one another before mass, to small groups and opportunities for our kids. We were looking for a wholistic Catholic experience where our faith and our church is a part of our daily lives, not just a church to attend on Sundays, and we both feel like we have found that here.
