If you receive a ministry serving request and you cannot serve, rather than clicking “decline” on the request, please click “find replacement”. This helps us, the schedulers, a bunch since then a request goes out to the group to find a replacement for your slot. Otherwise, that slot doesn’t get filled.
The information below tells you how to do that:
If you have the SEAS mobile app, it’s easiest to do it that way. When you get a text or email requesting for you to serve, rather than clicking on the link in the email or text, go to the SEAS mobile app. Click on “serving” at the bottom of the app. Then click on the serving slot that you can’t serve in and click “decline” (it won’t decline it all the way). Next, click the “Find A Replacement” button, which will email the group of ministers. See below:
Click on the pending request:
Click on “decline”:
Click on “Find A Replacement”:
One note about the app – it will show you both the pending requests specifically sent to you and also the requests from other ministers to find a replacement. If you click on a request from another minister, you won’t have the option to find a replacement. That’s how you’ll know it’s a request for a sub. This is where your request emails come in handy. Through your emails, you’ll know which requests were specific requests for you.
You can download the mobile app through the links below:
For iPhones: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/st-elizabeth-ann-seton-iowa/id1615475761
For all other phones: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.pushpay.seaspia
If you don’t use the SEAS mobile app and instead manage your serving on the web, rather than click “decline”, click on the white area. See below:
That will bring up a pop-up like the one below and then you can click “Find Replacement”. Then you can send an email to the group to ask for a replacement.
We really appreciate your help in responding to the ministry serving requests in this manner. If you have any questions on how to do this, please ask any of our staff and we’d be happy to help!
Thank you for being on our ministry team. By sharing your time, you help to make Mass happen for our parish!
