During Lent, make it a habit to visit the Blessed Sacrament weekly during Adoration. Stop in Mondays from NOON to 1 PM or 7 to 8 PM. Spend 5 minutes, or a full hour!
Pick up a rice bowl when you are at Mass and "give" throughout Lent. You can return the rice bowl at the conclusion of Lent to the parish office.
If you would like to write a check or put it in the offertory, just make sure to label it CRS Rice Bowl so it gets to the right place! Thank you for your generosity!
Rejection, pain and tragedy can make us question the goodness of God and challenge us to make sense of these negative circumstances. This homily series will help you make sense of life not making sense.
Join us in-person on February 26th and 27th to receive your FREE copy of the companion book. We’ll work through the chapters as a parish through the Sunday homilies and in small groups.
We have hopes and dreams for the future. We set our hearts on something good, and God lets us down when those hopes and dreams seem to have no hope of coming to fruition. In this homily, we will look at the life of Abraham and his disappointment with God. We will look at the importance of trusting God even when it seems like he has let us down.
From the government to the classroom to the sports field, we all have experiences of the wrong people being in charge. We encounter leaders who are incompetent, corrupt, or worse. In this homily, we will look at the call of Moses and what it says about God’s view of bad leaders.
There are times when God seems uncooperative; He is in our way or not doing what we want Him to do. When that happens, we start grumbling and complaining as the religious leaders did with Jesus—as the Jewish people did in the desert. Grumbling and complaining takes us away from the blessings of God. In this homily, we will look at the older brother in the parable of the Prodigal Son. He sees the father as standing in the way of life rather than seeing all the blessings the Father offered him.
Pain is a significant argument against the Gospel and Christianity. However, the scriptures do not run from this issue but address it head-on. In this homily, we will look at St. Paul and what he teaches us about looking past the pain and focusing on Jesus.
Lent is a time of repentance. According to the Cathechism of the Catholic Church, Catholics are obligated to confess serious sins at least once a year. You're invited to participate in this beautiful sacrament of forgiviness, mercy and grace. You can always contact Father Gary to set up an individual reconciliation.
