The native prairie circle was burned this year, in order to renew the growth, but due to being attacked by moles, voles, and other digging mammals, the roots did not thrive and many invasive plants and trees took hold there. Dave and Isaac Ptacek are in the process of tilling up the soil and spreading grub killer (to eliminate the grubs that moles and voles are attracted to). The goal is to plant new native plants after removing the non-native invasive plants. This is a volunteer ministry project and will take several hours depending on the amount of help available. If interested in this project, please contact Dave Ptacek at 319-210-3735.
NEED some ministers who may be interested in helping with the tilling, spreading grub killer or replanting native plants.
