Pastoral Council
The Pastoral Council, as the elected leadership of the parish, is grounded in faith and is to serve as the energizing, coordinating and unifying body which enables individual members to contribute to the processes which guide and support the total effort of the parish community to carry out the mission of Jesus Christ.
Structure The Pastoral Council includes our pastor, ten elected members including a youth representative, and the chair of the finance committee. The Council's executive commission is made up of the pastor, Pastoral Council chairperson, vice-chairperson and secretary. All elected members serve a three year term except for the youth representative who serves a one year term. Each Pastoral Council member who is not a member of the executive commission serves as an active member of a Pastoral Council Commission, as well as a liaison between the Pastoral Council and that commission.
Standing commissions of the Pastoral Council include Liturgy, Parish Life, Social Justice, and Formation and Education. Finance Council is parallel to the Pastoral Council. A separate and consolidated Board of Education oversees education. Elections to the Pastoral Council are held annually in the spring of the year.
Mission We are challenged to be good stewards of the parish finances, to develop ways to build community, discern structure and guidelines for the growth of the spiritual leadership and the entire parish community.
